During his time as the head of school at Latin School of Chicago, Randall Dunn managed all operations for the independent, urban facility, including oversight of a 250-person staff and more than 1,200 students ranging from pre-kindergarten to 12th grade. Randall Dunn fulfilled a dual role in this position as headmaster, forwarding the school’s innovative educational programming while also increasing its endowment. He also established a comprehensive private-public partnership with Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood, among other achievements.
In 2022, Randall Dunn joined Rye Country Day School in New York as the head of school. As the school’s senior executive and highest-ranking employee, he works closely with the board of trustees to carry out established policies and maintain educational objectives for almost 1,000 students. His achievements in this role include launching a $125 million capital campaign, triple the size of the school’s previous endowment effort.
Randall Dunn prepared for his career and work as Head of School by studying human development and psychology as a graduate student at Harvard. He was a recipient of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Scholarship, and his studies emphasized the achievement motivation of African-American students. He also holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from Brown University.
